Ice-melting Device

The line may be coated with ice easily under special climatic conditions (such as freezing rain, etc.), and if the large amount of ice fails to melt within a short term, the electric tower may collapse because it cannot bear too thick icing. TCR-type SVC may transform topology of the valve bank into a device similar to rectifier and convert AC current of the line into pulsating direct current that may heat the line (after line outage) to melt the ice quickly and protect the line. 



Ice melting

The main working principle of melting ice based on SVC:high DC current which passes transmission leading wire is gotten by rectification, the DC current is much higher than normal working current which heats the leading wire, so as to melt the ice, snow and rime.It can be switched to SVC working mode via changing main wiring connection methods when ice melting is not needed.
